About Karin Thoms
Behind every counsellor is a human with their own journey. Mine began long before my professional training, through personal experiences that taught me the importance of mental health support during life’s most vulnerable transitions.
Karin Thoms, SSW, RSSW, CC-PMH, MMHPC
Registered Social Service Worker, Certified Perinatal & Perimenopause and Menopause Mental Health Professional
As a mother who has navigated pregnancy loss, perinatal depression and anxiety, and the complex emotions of early parenthood, I understand firsthand how isolating these experiences can feel. These chapters shaped not only my perspective on mental health but also my approach as a Registered Social Service Worker specializing in perinatal, perimenopause, and menopause mental wellness.
I combine professional training, specialized perinatal, perimenopause and menopause mental health knowledge, and lived experience to provide compassionate, evidence-based support. My professional development is ongoing, ensuring I bring the most current and effective approaches to each session.
I provide virtual counselling services across Ontario, including Toronto, Hamilton, Kitchener-Waterloo, Brantford, Guelph, Ottawa, Windsor, London, and other communities throughout the province, and walk-and-talk counselling in Brant County, Ontario and surrounding areas.
My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can share your story, process your emotions, and develop strategies to navigate pregnancy, postpartum, menopause transitions, and life’s evolving stages with confidence, clarity, and care.
In a safe, judgment-free counselling space, I provide support for individuals navigating perinatal anxiety, postpartum depression, pregnancy loss, or life transitions in early parenthood, perimenopause and menopause. Together, we’ll explore your challenges, build on your strengths, and create practical strategies tailored to your unique journey toward emotional well-being.
